FATAL FRAME / PROJECT ZERO: Maiden of Black Water is a horror-adventure game that has been released on Play Station 4 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the FATAL FRAME / PROJECT ZERO series. The game is set on Mt. Hikami, a place known for its gruesome incidents and mysterious phenomena. The game follows three protagonists - Yuri Kozukata, Miu Hinasaki, and Ren Hojo - as they explore the mountain and uncover its secrets.
The gameplay involves using the Camera Obscura, a special camera capable of repelling vengeful ghosts and sealing away their powers. The story is divided into separate missions, and each mission is led by a new protagonist. Players can use the Shadow Reading power to sense the remnants of memories of people who have disappeared on the mountain. By capturing malicious spirits with the Camera Obscura, players can unravel the mysteries of the sacred mountain. The game also features new elements such as improved screen resolution, new outfits and accessories, updated Ghost List, and more.
